Wondering How Many Years
As I got up one morning,
A day less in my life,
Wondering how years have passed;
Silently, Just the other day,
I was small.
A sudden fear dawned,
If the years pass this fast,
Wondering how many years will pass;
Silently, Just the other day,
I will be old.
I have worries now,
Many How and What unanswered,
Wondering how many years have passed;
Without answers, Just the other day,
I survived happily for so many years.
These worries are futile,
Really? Heart asked gently,
Wondering how many years will pass;
Winning over worries, to find new worries,
I will survive happily all the years to come.
I fear old age.
The weak bones and sinking mind,
Wondering how many years have passed;
Running after the last bus in a crowded bus,
I will prefer comfortable seat in my car.
I am content.
Mind says run and heart says okay,
Wondering how many years will pass,
To run mind and heart in unison,
I will be happy and satisfied.
